Mental Health Medications Update 2012
This course, an update from our earler course, gives a brief overview of how psychotherapeutic medications are used as treatment for mental illnesses. It covers specific medications for treating schizophrenia, depression, biploar disorder, anxiety disorders, and ADHD. In addition to describing each type of mental disorder and the effect medications have on it, the course gives information on side effects of the medications listed, directions for taking the medications, and FDA warnings where appropriate. 3 CEU hrs. $9

Injury Prevention and Elderly Care
This course provides guidelines for nursing home employers to help reduce the number and severity of work-related musculoskeletal disorders in their facilities. The recommendations in these guidelines are based on a review of existing practices and programs, State OSHA programs, as well as available scientific information, and comments received from representatives of trade and professional associations, labor organizations, the medical community, individual firms, and other interested parties. OSHA hopes that employers with similar work environments will find these guidelines applicable such as assisted living centers, homes for the disabled, homes for the aged, and hospitals, as well as nursing homes. 3 CEU hrs $9

Older Adults and Depression
This course describes what an evidence-based practice (EBP) for treating older adults with depression is. It also presents factors to consider when choosing an EBP; identifies which EBPs are available for older adults with depression; and describes the available training resources. These interventions are more likely to reduce depressive symptoms in older adults than other interventions when implemented correctly. EBPs covered include psychotherapy interventions, antidepressant medications, multidisciplinary geriatric outreach services, and collaborative and integrated mental and physical health care. 10 CEU hrs $30
