Because technology-based harassment rates are lower than other forms of youth victimization, the experiences that youth have with technology must be considered in connection with broader patterns of peer and sibling victimization, child maltreatment, conventional crime, sexual victimization, witnessing and indirect victimization, and other adverse life events to fully understand the causes, nature, and impact of the problem.
